Wear: Orchard CS-426

Orchard Corset CS-426 Steel-Boned Longline Underbust in Black Cotton

CS-426 (not me in the pic)
Before I started making a corset, I ordered one. I was going to put off actually making one, but I got too enthusiastic. ^_^

But yesterday this one arrived!!!  And I am pleased. ^_^

I spent quite of a bit of time searching online for an appropriate, first time, off-the-rack corset to buy and finally ended up at Orchard Corset. I was originally put off by the limited choice of fabrics and styles, but what finally sold me was the review by Lucy's Corsets, which in general is positive, and the the only negatives could be overcome by ordering in cotton, rather than satin (which I prefer the look of anyway).  The price was good too, and standard shipping under AU$10 from the US was also a plus.

After watching nearly ALL their extremely comprehensive videos, I settled on the CS-426 Steel-Boned Longline Underbust in black cotton, after a quick email consultation that it would fit, and I couldn't be happier.

I'm breaking it in (or "seasoning" the corset as per instructions) so I have a 4-5" gap down the back at the moment and some gaping at the hip and chest area - as expected.  But the look is good, the fabric is dark and matt, and I think it will fit well once my body and the corset are shaped to each other.  I'll need to move the waist pull down a notch to fit my true waist, but that's not really a problem.

And, if there is still a bit of gaping, well it's a small job to fix it, even if I have to re-edge the corset  (I have the skillzzz).

And once everything is broken in, I'll do a further review and post pictures of me wearing it (now I just need some fabulous steampunk event to go too...)
